Thinking About the Process
How did you make this?
What steps did you have to go through to create this information film?

Could you create some instructions to help other classes make their own cool videos like this one?

On the Beach

On the Beach
Before Room 4 and 20 went to camp we searched the beach for crabs.

There were loads of crabs. My friend Patrick found 7 or 8 crabs under a rock. He picked up the biggest crab and he called him Steven. I held Steven. He was as hard as a brick and as slimy as seaweed. I picked up a few crabs and found a rock with a little bit of water beside it, for my crabs.

I like playing with crabs at the beach I wish I could go again.

Flying Kiwi

Flying Kiwi Fun

At 8pm the Cereal Killers,
a night time activity group of some boys, went to the shed to get a harness and helmet!

We put the helmet and harness on. Next minute we were at the Flying Kiwi. Caden was tied on to the rope. The lady instructor yelled, "pull wings pull." We all pulled hard and up Caden went!

Soon it was my go. I'm scared but glad. I go up. oh god! I hit the top!

I’m down and I go to get desert and play spotlight.

Spotlight

Spotlight

On the first night of camp we played spotlight. Callum & I buddied up. This is what happened.

The rules were the first person to the bench won. To start Mr Harrison left to get his whistle then we hid .He blew the whistle 6 times. From then on out if we got found by a teacher we were OUT!!!

Our torches were very different. Callum's torch was red & it was just normal with a white light. My one was a green head lamp with a black and green head band. Also it has 2 light settings, red and white.

We were stuck. Not like in mud but as in a sort of lost. We had been in a spot most of the game, and then from the distance Mr Harrison himself appeared. I hid covering the green dinosaur on my shirt. Somehow I was camouflaged. In the end Callum got caught & I survived.

Camp was really fun but the most fun was playing spotlight.

Flying Kiwi

Early morning on Wednesday we woke up and had our early breakfast, we got dressed and off we went to the hall. Everybody seem so tired. Our last activity was the Flying Kiwi. We went outside and waited for our teacher. Finally she came and her name is Liz.

First we had to listen to some safe instructions and put on our helmets (very tight} and put on our harnesses. It gave me a wedge. After when we listened carefully we got to have a try. We hold the rope very tight and 123 UP SHE GO she was like a real kiwi flying up.   When it got to my turn I got nervous but in the both time I got really excited. Up I go and go and go and……. hurray  I’m on the top but then it dropped  ahhhhhhhhhh it got me a fright. After on I got tired and very hot and I felt like I am going to burn up red like a fire. On the second round we got  throw two toys up in the sky and  throw the toys into the hoop. It was so hard to get it in the hoop. All that hard work from the pulling the rope the time was over. We all  were  tired and had to have a big rest.

I would want to do the Flying Kiwi {even if it was hard} but it was very fun!!!!!

Cat and Mouse

Wainui Camp 2013-03-12J
At Wainui it is so fun and exciting. We did a lot of things there. One of my best things was the cat and mouse game. Everybody was sitting in a big circle. Two people had blind folds on.
In their hand they had a shaker each. One shaker made a big sound and one made a little sound. The big sound was the cat and the little sound was the mouse. The cat nearly tagged the mouse but the cat missed and every body was laughing.  The cat was next to the mouse but the mouse didn’t know that the cat was next to the mouse! Every body was laughing about that thing.
And at the end the cat tagged the mouseJ.

The Flying Kiwi

The Flying Kiwi

My heart was pounding as my harnesses clicked tight around me. They pulled me up. Be brave, be brave I thought as I got higher and higher off the ground.

When I got to the top I looked down, I couldn't believe it! Everyone looked as big as thimbles! 3, 2, 1 drop! I dropped the rubber toy chicken and tried to get it into the purple hula hoop; I got it in the hoop unfortunately the toy chicken bounced because the hoop was on the ground. Then I tried to get the flipper in the hoop but I got nowhere near the hoop because I was spinning around. I didn't feel scared anymore.

As I was lowered down I kept on thinking I wish I could do that again, but everyone needs a turn. When I got to the bottom my chest harness was taken off and I joined the end of the line. It was hard work pulling everyone up but I knew it was like this when they were pulling me up.

If I could, I would go back to Wainui just to do the flying kiwi again.

The Steep Hill

 Going Down the Steep Hill

Blood pulsing at break neck speed. Feeling nervous. I edged slowly down the steep winding road.  My only life line, a single rope tied to the branch of a tree. I looked down. I was dizzlingly high up, I felt sick.

I couldn't  move, I was scared stiff. Then suddenly the sand under my feet started to shift, I was slipping!!!

I regained my balance, but I still felt petrified. Then I noticed people shouting behind me. Someone shouted, “hurry up!” For a moment I felt infuriated thinking, "they have no idea what it’s like being terrified of heights!"

I saw the beach just in front of me. I thought to myself, “you can do it - almost there.” When I finally got down I felt proud, relived
and I
couldn't
believe what I had just
done.

The Flying Kiwi

The flying kiwi was awesome. When you had to pull the person up at the front you went up in the air. When they call you up they put a chest harness on and then the lady clips you in.The people pull hard on the rope you go up and up. When you are at the top you can see the mountains.
