Use one of your initials for your own illuminated letter design to be added to your artefact box.
Create your own illuminate letter
- divide a new journal page into 4 and sketch out some ideas for your letter design
- include a border with symbols, icons or patters and designs
- add designs inside or around your letter too
- colour with strong contrasting colours or use a selection of tones
- choose between a crayon and dye effect or pen, pencil and felt pens
- finish off by using a puffy paint / glue to make the outline of your letter stand out

Write TEN or more sentences that express / explain / tell / describe what RESPECT is.
Your sentences should inform the reader about your personal feelings and ideas about what RESPECT is - and what people need to do to show it.
DRAFT in your writing book - remember line spaces
EDIT - Reda with a buddy sentence by sentence - COPS capitals, overall sense, punctuation, spelling
PUBLISH - find the TEMPLATE folder in the DROPBOX and use the Respect document as a starting point for your published copy. Save your version as Respect (your name) in your own folder.

When you respect people they show respect back.
Respect is letting other people have their own ideas and not telling them that they are wrong.

Follow this guide to help you with your report.
Decide
What is your report going to be about?
Research
- Collect information - use books, web sites, videos, interview people
Organise
- Highlight keywords and important information
- Group common ideas eg. is, has, does, lives - colour code your notes and highlighting
- Make your own notes in your journal - not full sentences - just the main ideas and keywords
- Organise the notes as you go eg. is, has, does, lives - this will become separate paragraphs in your writing
Draft
- In your own words write clear sentence that explain what you have found out
- Reread as you go and check that what you have said makes sense
- Write sentences that join together with ideas that fit with each other
- Its important to use topic words that are special to your information
- Explain hard words to the reader
- Only use words that you understand
Edit
- Use COPS
- Capitals, Overall Sense, Punctuation, Spelling
- Number one - does it make sense?
- Read out loud to yourself and check that your writing makes good sense
